Measured Building Survey

Internal measured building surveys are usually carried out for a variety of purposes including the recording of newly completed structures, refurbishment of old or derelict properties and space planning for existing buildings. We use Leica HDS 3D laser scanners and software packages to capture and process data. Autodesk software packages, such AutoCAD & Revit is used to produce Floor/Reflected Ceiling Plans, Sections, Elevations & 3D BIM Models.


We have experience in producing plans ranging from typical residential houses to commercial buildings, such as retail units, warehouses & office buildings all of which can be produced to the level of detail required.  

Levels of detail can range from basic dimensioned plans to fully detailed surveys.  


These surveys are carried out using 3D laser scanners in order to capture all accessible and visible elements of the site, producing a point-cloud. Usually within a shorter period of time than traditional survey techniques enabling us to produce 2D or 3D deliverables.

We can produce additional CAD Plans, Sections, Elevations, Revit Models from the same point-cloud with just the additional CAD cost. Subject to the elements required being in the point-cloud resulting in further savings.


Typical deliverables can be as follows:

 

  • Point-Cloud in a file format that is compatible with different software packages, such as Autodesk 
  • Floor & Reflected Ceiling Plans 
  • Sections 
  • Elevations 
  • Revit (BIM) models
