Terrestrial laser scanning has been around since the 1960s, however recent advancements in technology make them very powerful tools for capturing built environment. Latest scanners can acquire up to 2 million points/second within a short period of time including a full HDS images with a minimum range of 60 metres to up to 4.5 kilometre.
Laser scanners produce data, called point cloud. Capturing all accessible and visible elements in their line of sight at each set up within their range. The density of these points cloud depends on either pre-configured, default or in some user defined settings. The number of set ups also make them denser as there are always overlaps. These are then registered into a cluster or clusters depending on the project, which can be used to extract information as required into 2D or 3D deliverables.
The number of applications are increasing by the day as developers recognise the potential in the technology ranging from a simple lease plan to creating movie scenes.
We can provide but not limited to the following deliverables (*):
· Point-Cloud in a file format that is compatible with different software packages, such as Autodesk
· Floor & Reflected Ceiling Plans
· Sections
· Elevations
· Revit (BIM) models
· Lease plans
· Nett / Gross Internal Area (NIA/GIA)
(*) Please note that all drawings will be produced using Autodesk software packages, such as AutoCAD & Revit. However, we aim to provide deliverables produced or as a minimum compatible with different providers i.e.: ArchiCAD, MicroStation and alike.
